New Type Lithium Iron
Phosphate Project Getting Government Grant
Cooperated by Shenzhen
Nonfemet Technology Co., Ltd and Shenzhen University, Project of Industrialization of New Type Lithium Iron Phosphate used
as cathode for lithium ion batteries successfully gets the approval of 2009
financing projects of Shenzhen Municipal
Research Funds for Technology R&D Plan and to be the fifth financing
project in 2009. It will get 120 thousand RMB government grants, which is
proved on the website of Shenzhen Bureau of Science Technology &
Information.
Lithium ion battery is the
ideal chemical battery for modern communications, IT and portable electronic
products, an also is the preferential power battery for hybrid and other new
energy automotive products, which has a wide application prospect and huge
economic benefits. With advantages of theoretic high capacity, good thermal
stability and environmental protection, lithium iron phosphate is considered as
the first choice of lithium iron battery positive material. And its cost takes
40% of the whole battery cost. If the demanding rate is 10~20% for hybrid
automobile, electric tool, electric bicycle and electric scooter, the lithium
iron battery demand of global market is up to 28 billion Tons, and lithium iron
phosphate demand is 60 thousand Tons. The global lithium iron phosphate
productivity in 2008 is 10 thousand Tons and actual output is 5,000 Tons, which
shows the downstream demand is far larger than the current productivity.
Calculated by the leading lithium iron phosphate enterprise A 123, the shortage
of global lithium iron phosphate production will reach 100,000 Tons.
Our
industrialization project of new type lithium iron phosphate is cooperated by
Shenzhen Nonfemet Technology Co., Ltd and Shenzhen University. It is supported
by our company industrial capacity, the research strength of Chemistry and
Chemical Engineering School of Shenzhen University, and the hardware of
Shenzhen Functional Polymer Preparation Lab. There is a staff of 20 people, of
which 12 have bachelor’s degree or above and 3 are professor or professor-level
engineers, so we have a powerful R&D and industrialization capacity in
material realm. Following is the core R&D staff.

general manager of Shenzhen Nonfemet
Tech. Co., Ltd, is a professor-level engineer and nonferrous metallurgy
postgraduate of Central South University graduated in 1988. He has long been
engaged in manufacture and technical work. He was one of the Top 10 Youth in
Shaoguan Smelter and the master of new product development in Shaoguan City in
1994. He was cited as the cross-century academic and technical leader in 1996.
He got the State Council special allowance in 2008 and got the second prize of
national technological innovation and Guangdong first prize of scientific and
technological progress.

Liu Jianhong, dean of Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering School of Shenzhen University, director of Shenzhen Functional
Polymer Preparation Lab, professor and Ph. D supervisor. He got the Dr. of high
polymer chemistry of Fudan University in 1989; he was hired as Ph. D supervisor
of China University of Geosciences Wuhan in 2003; was the prominent teacher of
Guangdong South; was the trainee of Guangdong Qianbaishi Project Excellent Talented
People(provincial level); got the 4th Shenzhen Youth Science and Technology Award and
Shenzhen government subvention in 2005; was awarded advanced individual of
Qianbaishi Project in Guangdong colleges, and got Guangdong Province and
Shenzhen City progress prizes in science and technology for many times.

Huang Jianmin, Deputy General
Manager of Shenzhen Nonfemet Tech. Co., Ltd, engineer. Graduated in 1996 as
powder metallurgy postgraduate of Central South University, he works on the
microstructure and performance research of ultrafine particle metal powder
materials, and also has special innovations on manufacturing high-strength
powders materials with low-pressure hot isostatic pressing facilities, making
high-performance metal powder flake with high-energy milling facilities and
special zinc aluminum coating. He has strong theoretical and practical
engineering experience on metal manufacture technology and microstructure
analysis, and strong ability of projects industrialization with one published
paper and three patents of invention.
The project includes: manufacture and doping of mesoporous lithium iron
phosphate and research on technology of graphene encapsulating doped with
mesoporous lithium iron phosphate. We have finished the carbonizing facility,
fluid bed dryer and precision spraying preoxidation furnace used for the
project.
Officers of Shenzhen Bureau of Science
Technology & Information visited and inspected our company and were very
satisfied with the manufacturing and R&D facilities of our company.
